For college age Chinese learning population, we assume that students are taking courses in schools towards foreign language credit. Our teaching becomes supplemental to school classes. We will design customized courses to complement & assist student in learning in depth Chinese language and culture.
If we are not teaching in conjunction with students' school work, we have designed the following programs student can enroll in.
Primary goals for this student population are:
Master Chinese pronunciation/pinyin system and Chinese input system.
Learning the stroke and parts of Chinese Characters and calligraphy.
Master Chinese grammar
Master Chinese conversation.
Increase Chinese vocabulary.
Learn Chinese culture & history.
Short essay writing.
Business Chinese
Beginning Level
We begin student with Pinyin system or review of pinyin system. We focus on aforementioned item.
Master Chinese pronunciation/pinyin system and Chinese input system.
Learning the stroke and parts of Chinese Characters and calligraphy.
Master Chinese grammar.
The level covers 4 quarters (1 year), which use 'Standard Chinese" for beginners, plus supplemental materials.

Intermediary Level
We begin student with review of strokes & parts, and focusing on aforementioned item:
Master Chinese grammar.
Master Chinese conversation.
Increase Chinese vocabulary.
Intermediary level student starts "Standard Chinese" intermediary level with supplemental reading, grammar, and story telling materials. This level covers 4 - 8 quarters (1 - 2 years).

Advanced Level
In advanced level, student already master about 500 - 1500 words and understand Chinese grammar and could write short essays or business memos in Chinese. We focus on aforementioned item:
Learn Chinese culture & history.
Short essay writing.
Business Chinese.
This level covers "Standard Chinese" advance level. It will have 4- 8 quarters (1-2 years).
