In China, learning English is a huge market place with more than $40 billion being spent annually by people from all ages who needs English to advance their career, understand the world, travel, and study abroad. We take the approach of daily learning as the foundation of mastering a secondary language combined with test prep courses for specific needs.
Character Building
A poem my son brought back from school when he was in fourth grade got me thinking about offering counseling and consulting services to parents and students alike in China so they can understand the western way of educating their youth. There is no right or wrong way about the Chinese way or western way of educating their youth; in fact, there are advantages and disadvantages for each one of them.
However, there is a need for Chinese education to move beyond the emphasis on knowledge acquisition to promoting the ability to think independently and apply knowledge in new situations, which are two traits in which American schools hold a comparative advantage. I would like to introduce the way I learned in the United States on how they educate their youth, although it might be only one facet of a very complicated field.
Kids English Lessons
Best time to start learning a foreign language is when you are young; kids can master the right pronunciation way better than older language learners. 4 years old can start learning on computer with about 15-25 minutes at a time. Our 1 hour class will be broken down to two small sessions to accommodate these needs.
Learning English has never been easy for Chinese, we take a different approach to teaching English to Chinese Kids, we will make sure they master PHONICS, accumulate enough words so they feel competent, and through talking, reading, watching TV program and playing to acquire English language.
Elementary School English
According to other current research, the best age to start learning a foreign language with efficiency is early adolescence, about 8 -13, and the more motivated the child is to learn the new language, the more successful he/she will be! English is a required subject in China and throughout Asia.
Our Elementary English lessons will continue with master PHONICS, accumulate enough words so they feel competent, and through talking, reading, watching TV program and playing to acquire English language. We will add grammar during this period.
Ethics and Character Building Lesson (recommended for young people in China)
There is a recent interview of the two of the richest man on earth, Bill Gates and Warren Buffet on TV, one question is about Ethics, Mr. Buffet thinks Ethic teaching starts from home and through parenting more than anywhere else, yet parenting is not an easy subject to master by any means, especially in contemporary China.
Through English poem and books, we construct this class for student of any age to get a feel of Western culture and how they educate their youth in Ethics and Characters building. This class will touch religion, literature in the form of short story, poem, and books, speeches, articles, and documentary program to ana.
Middle School English
Middle School English will focus almost completely on vocabulary accumulation, reading and listening comprehension. Through appropriate reading, book analysis, and book review, student will get an essence of English language. Through watching online news and other video program, student will get to learn English while in tune with the English speaking world around them.
English Grammar Lessons
English Grammar is not the hardest subject as compare to increasing vocabulary counts in learning English, we teach systematically through three levels, elementary, secondary and advanced grammar to help our students in their English writing ability. Being able to construct grammatically correct English sentences and paragraphs in oral and written format is considered essential in succeeding in life in general.
High School English
We will continue focus on vocabulary accumulation, listening and reading comprehension while spending time on Grammar and test preparation. Increase students’ overall English language ability and enjoy the learning experience is key to our success.
SAT Prep Lessons
More and more students from China are taking SAT test directly in high school so they can apply and attend US colleges and universities.
We offer SAT Prep Lessons through our partners who have more than three decades of experiences in SAT prep. We offer tutor on the side so student can get more out of the classes
Business English Lessons
English is the language of commerce for the past century and it will be true through this century as well if not the next one. Fortune 500 companies all have established their beach front in China. Daily English Lessons
In Daily English lessons, our teachers work with students on improving students’ English vocabulary counts, reading comprehension, listening comprehension, English grammar, and conversational English. It is our believe that persistence is the key to learn a secondary language and master it over years of practice and accumulation of knowledge.
Conversational English Lessons
These classes focus on daily usage of English language. We focus on getting student to be able to communicate with English speaking persons in a variety of circumstances, in school, in bank, in supermarket, at the airport, rent an apartment, in shopping malls, and many other occasions. This is a survival class for people who intent to study, live, and work in an English speaking country other than China.
Contemporary United States (pre requisite advanced English reading ability)
Since our school is originated and managed from American, we would like to offer our students the opportunity to understand America and its culture through contemporary means. We utilize online media, such as NY Times, Wall Street Journal, Times magazine, CNN, YouTube, and others, to introduce daily American News, Bestselling books, daily political and economical issues to people in China who wish to understanding the West, especially United States better while learning English.
